Filip Luszczyk posted a whole bunch of comments and questions about Panty Explosion on the Forge. I answered them to the best of my ability. This is interesting for me because I really feel like Filip and I have very different approaches to games. Filip has taken tthe time to comment on a number of my designs. You can see his comments on my first draft for Upskirt (at the time code named Friendless) here.
Filip raises an interestting point, that no one talks about Panty Explosion. As he says “I actually find it a bit alarming that the system is not discussed much. Seriously, with over a thousand copies of the book sold, am I the only PE-proof person out there, or do other people decided not to talk about their rules problems for some reason?”
It’s a good point.
In other news…
Judd Goswick gave Panty Explosion a 5 Star user review over at IPR! here’s teh review:
An innovative system with a creepy and disturbing look into Japananese horror – where some of the horror comes from the bullies more than the Demons. The game’s system is simple, plays fast, keeps the whole table enagaged all the time, and is fun.
The friend/rival system is the true jewel here, where the player of the character you designate as your best friend describes your successes and the player of the character you designate your rival describes your failures. This leads to all sorts of chaos and keeps players engaged even when they are not in the focus of the scene.
The horror is creepy, the background info is copious and relevent to making play work, and the system of setting up scenes gives every player a say in what is going on and what it means in the story context.
I cannot recommend this game enough!
Thanks Judd!
