Life and Agony of Schoolgirls (again!): Panty Explosion in Korea

November 11, 2007

Remember the Korean review of Panty Explosion from a few months ago? That was written by Jee Hyung lee, who later wrote this follow up bit in English just for us to explain what she was talking about (because Babelfish clearly wasn’t working for us)! Here’s an excerpt:

” Through this overview I point out that the rules are well-suited for creating well-rounded and believable schoolgirls, with the added depth of psychological horror that is all the more horrific because it reflects the oppression that schoolgirls live under. (While I’ve left my own schoolgirl days behind, the life of a Korean schoolgirl isn’t all that different from that of a Japanese schoolgirl.)

I also pointed out in my reply that a rulebook truly geared towards women would have a lot more sex in it than PE does. :D

Cool! Thats just a little bit of it. Read the whole article here!

Jee also started a Story games topic sharing some really cool ideas for Panty Explosion games in non-Japanese settings, with some great ideas for games in Korea. Read them here!

After ereading this I really want to know more about Korean Shamanism for my next game!

Velvet Dice Bag features Panty Explosion!

November 8, 2007

Velvet Dice Bag featured Panty Explosion to kick off their weekly indie games feature. Velvet Dice Bag gave a very nice review/over view of the game, saying it’s “s good as its title is bizarre”. They also called Panty Explosion “Unique, a bit off-the-wall, innovative and esoteric”. That’s just the kind of stuff we love to hear. Thanks!
