There was a point when I thought no one would buy a game called Panty Explosion. Back when Matt and I first announced the game we had an amazing number of people tell us that we had to, ABSOLUTELY HAD TO, change the name. No one would ever buy a game called Panty Explosion. The name was stupid. The name was offensive. The name was insulting, vulgar and childish. Nobody would ever buy it. No store would ever carry it.
We nearly sold out at Gencon. Seriously.
So, to every single one of you who came over to the booth and bought a copy of the game hot off the press I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! And for every one of you who stopped Matt or I in the Gencon hall and asked us where our booth was or bought a copy we had in our hands I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! And for every single one of you who said nice things about the book and talked it up to other people and actually sent people over to our booth to buy the book (you know who you are) i say again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! And to Ben Lehman who actually payed for his copy in Yen I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Thanks to everybody who made Gencon such a sweet week. Not only did we have a blast talking up Panty Explosion and actually selling it to people face to face for the first time, but I also got to met a ton of great people who I only knew as names on the Forge or other sites. I also was able to see some friends I hadn’t seen for awhile and play and buy some really excellent games.
So anyway, Gencon is over and we’re back and rested and ready to work. What does that mean? Here’s a list:
The books look awesome. lance Williams of Avalon Innovations delivered the first ever copies of Panty explosion to us at the show, and they look fantastic. I am so incredibly pleased with them. Lance even took the time to round off the corners to give the book a notebook look. If you haven’t seen a copy of it yet you should definitely order one just to take a look at it. It’ really fantastic. I couldn’t be more pleased.
The site has a new look. I’m sure you noticed. Everything is white instead of black. The Atarashi Games site is a work in progress, and it will definetly change from time to time. This version seems cleaner and easier to use to me. Feedback is welcome by the way.
And there’s new stuff on the site! Holy crap, new stuff! Before I went off to Gencon I put up a What is Panty Explosion? page, which provides a lot more info about the game. There’s also a brand new Actual Play page detailing a recent session of the Panty Explosion game that I’m currently playing in. Check that out to get an idea of what a game of PE looks like. I also put up a new student record pack, which includes both a full color and printer friendly black and white version of the standard Student Record sheets, as well as four ready to play Students.
New projects! Both Matt and I are working on new Panty Explosion projects that will hopefully see publication later this year. We’ll talk about these more soon.
Thats it for now.
